About the role

As COO you are responsible for the daily management of the entire organization, with exception of the Investment departments (leader; Chief Investment Officer) and the Sales departments (leader; CEO).

The role involves the best allocation of both financial and human resources, prioritizing tasks, reviewing the tooling systems and platforms, managing relationships with external and internal stakeholders. The COO will work towards creating an environment of high performance and best execution of our client’s operations.

Furthermore, the COO will (added by his strong operational excellence background) guide the investment departments and sales departments in achieving operational excellence.

You will develop, implement and execute strategic plans, in line with the board’s strategy. This involves aligning departmental goals with the company’s mission and ensuring cohesive execution across teams.

You will act as a liaison between the Executive Board and other departments, ensuring that information flows smoothly. This includes preparing and delivering internal and external communications on behalf of the Board.

You oversee critical projects from start to finish. This involves coordinating across stakeholders, setting milestones, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

You identify and resolve operational issues that may impede the organization’s progress. This includes streamlining processes, implementing new systems, and monitoring organizational performance.

You lead (cross-functional) teams, mentor staff, and foster a collaborative work environment, oriented towards results and delivery. You ensure that team members are aligned with the company’s objectives.

About you

You look forward to change from the back seat to the driver’s seat and are thrilled to help grow (with) an industry-changing company and put business, processes, systems, models and people in place. If they already were in place…. you would be bored. Preferred education? Something with finance or business management at an academic level. Preferred professional background? A few years in operational excellence in Fintech and/or investment banking and/or maybe even in highbrow financial consulting will give you a head start.

You build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within the organization. This is how you promote better communication and collaboration. You are proactive and anticipate the needs of the board and the organization. You address, solve and/or provide solutions to potential issues before they escalate and regularly identify opportunities for improvement.

You maintain confidentiality when and where needed and handle sensitive information with discretion, maintaining the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality. You develop empathy, understanding the perspectives and needs of different team members. This helps foster a positive and motivated work environment.

You continuously improve your problem-solving capabilities by facing challenges head-on and learning from past experiences. Dealing with numerous tasks and responsibilities, it is crucial to maintain a high level of organization. You use tools and systems that help streamline your workload. You invest in continuous development, staying up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and management practices. This will ensure that your skills remain relevant and valuable.

As COO, you are the main interface between the Board and the rest of the organization. When you have showcased your skills and results, you will be given the opportunity to grow towards a board-membership yourself. Including an opportunity to participate in the SAR (Stock Appreciation Rights) or even invest in the company as shareholder. Hence, we are not looking for an entrepreneurial leader, we are looking for an entrepreneur.
