About the organization
Our customer is a leading developer of laser engraving and cutting technology, with their global headquarters in the USA. Both sales & service activities for the European markets are provided by strategic partners. These distributors are responsible for customer support, service and maintenance of machines at the customer’s premises.
To further support the organisation, our client is now seeking support of an EMEA Financial Accountancy Officer who is curious, has a strong sense of responsibility, likes to solve problems and always gets to the heart of the matter.
About the role
Are you a Financial Accountant who enjoys working in a small-scale, close-knit organization with international contacts? Our client is an innovative player in laser systems for engraving, cutting and marking. You will have the opportunity to take on an independent role within the compact EMEA team in Houten.
You enjoy managing and optimizing processes, you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and you have the ambition to grow further together with the organization.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Support for the financial closing, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations and variation analyses of actual versus expected results.
- Coordinating payroll administration and intercompany transactions.
- Responsible for customer invoicing and checking VAT compliance.
- Processing supplier invoices, personnel costs and expense claims.
- Prepare and execute electronic payments.
- Manage financial and historical data, including supplier files.
- Provide correct VAT and Intrastat returns.
- Prepare monthly financial reports.
- Maintain contacts with distributors and external parties in Europe.
- Operational support for technical support, inventory management and customer order entry.
- Back-up for operational tasks such as shipping/receiving and order entry as needed to support the small operations.
- Special projects as required.
About you
To be successful in the role of Financial Accountant at this organization, it is essential that you have:
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience as an all-round financial employee/financial accountant
- HBO work and thinking level, supplemented with a financial education, such as accounting, business administration, business economics or accountancy
- Speaks and writes fluently in English and Dutch
- Experience with an international organization (activities in Europe and/or parent company in the US)
- Accuracy and organizational skills
- Able to manage and execute multiple and diverse priorities and tasks
- Experience with ERP systems and optimization
- Willingness to travel for training/onboarding of the finance team in the United States
- This concerns a position for 24-32 hours per week, with flexibility to work in the afternoon due to the time difference with the US.
